Olander Baxter
Olander Baxter, age 86, of Midland, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 10, 2009. He was born May 2, 1923, in Mexia, Texas, to the late Oscar and Gertrude Dean Baxter. He was raised in Seven Pines, TX; he was one of nine children.
He married Camille Riggs in Jena, Louisiana on April 7, 1942. He entered the United States Navy in 1942 and served on the USS Copahee during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. After discharge from the Navy, Olander followed the oilfield business from Jonesville, Louisiana to Midland, Texas. He formed the Midland Casing Pullers, Baxter Casing Pullers and Camille Drilling Company. Olander and Camille had six children: Daniel and wife Vicki; Rusty and wife Sandra; Pam Messer; Gary and wife Debbie; Mary Lewis and husband Skipper; and Robert Baxter. Camille preceded him in death on February 19, 2000.
Olander met Jackie Catoe at the Ranchland Heights Baptist Church at a Sweetheart’s Banquet, February 2001. They married August 25, 2001 in Midland, Texas. Jackie added great joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.
He is survived by wife Jackie; six children, stepson Bill Johnson and wife Missi; his sister, Dee Schultz of Kingsland, Texas; his brother, Dan Baxter of Bakersfield, California; nine grandchildren, Amy Ciaccio, Jana Messer, Mitchell Baxter, Allison Jenner, Cy Baxter, Adam Baxter, Jason Lew is, Shea Vandergrift, and Landy Baxter; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Ellis Funeral Home, Thursday, November 12, 2009 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services have been scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 13, 2009 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Kepple and Carl Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.ellisfu nerals.com.
Fred Benard Hatten
Funeral services for Mr. Fred Benard Hatten will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Harrisonburg Elementary School Auditorium at 11 a.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Mildred Hatten of Harrisonburg, LA;  a daughter, Ms. Moneka Hatten of Jonesville, LA; two sons, Mr. Fred Hatten, Jr. of Jonesville and Mr. Bralon Jennings of Baton Rouge, LA; four sisters, Mrs. Mable Cravens (Howard), Mrs. Rhonda Dunbar (Larry) of Jonesville, Ms. Sinda Washington and Ms. Laura Kiper of Harrisonburg; three brothers, Mr. Richard (Doll) Hatten (Ruby) of Harrisonburg, Mr. Anthony Hatten (Mary J,) of Covington, LA, Georgia and Mr. Arthur Washington of Pineville, LA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He also leaves four grandchildren.
As a result of a car accident, Mr. Hatten was pronounce dead on the scene on November 14, 2009.
Korey Washington
Funeral services for Mr. Korey Washington will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Harrisonburg Elementary School Auditorium at 11 a.m.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted mother, Ms. Sinda Washington of Harrisonburg, LA; his father, Mr. Emmett Washington (Pat) of Jonesville, LA; one sister, Ms. Tongeia Washington of Harrisonburg; two brothers, Mr. Vincent Hatten (Cheryl) and Mr. Emmett Washington, Jr. of Harrisonburg; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Washington passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Riverland Hospital as a result of an automobile accident.
EmmaJean Wiley Coleman Woolsey
A resident of Prairieville, she died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at her home. She was 72 and a native of jonesville. Visiting was at Community Chapel, Walker, Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon. Interment in Salem Cemetery, Walker. Survived by her.; five daughters, Shellie Boudreaux, Shelia Bishop, Angel Williams, Suzie Woolsey and Rebecca Kestle; three sons, Edgar Leon Coleman, Robert Coleman and Charles Woolsey Jr.; sister, Ioma Miller; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, two sons-in-law and a grandchild. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services, St. Amant.
Richard Eugene Hancock
Graveside services for Mr. Richard Eugene Hancock, 57 ,of Vidalia, LA  will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 11:30 AM with Rev. Timothy Vanier officiating under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday    
Mr. Hancock was born July 04, 1952 in Natchez, MS and passed away Friday November 13, 2009 at Natchez Regional Medical Center ,Natchez, MS.

Percy Case
Funeral services for Mr. Percy Case, 81, of Jonesville, LA were held at Young's Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Bro. Preston Holder officiating. Interment followed at Hope Memorial Cemetery, Crosby MS, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Case was born October 14, 1928 in Brookhaven, MS and passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at his residence in Jonesville La. Mr. Percy Ser ved his Country in the United States Navy and Air Force during World War II.
He was preceded in Death by his father, Louie Case; his mother, Rosie Allen Case; his wife, Elna McCurley Case; a brother, Thomas Edward Case; and two sisters,  Janie Pearl Moss and Gladys Holloway.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Gallegos Case of Jonesville, LA; a daughter,  Glenda and her husband Sam Renfrow of Jonesville; two sons, Kenneth and his wife Lynn Case of Vidalia, LA and Willis Case of Jonesville; a brother, L.C. Case of Pineville, LA; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jamie Renfrow, Willis Case, Jr., Preston Case, Ty Case, Elton Jolly, and Kenny Mack Case.
Honorary Pallbearers were Herbert Wilson, Freddie Case, Norman Almond, and R.T. Stockman.
