James Henry Riley
Funeral services for James Henry Riley, 89, of Sicily Island, LA will be held at
Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church in Harrisonburg on Wednesday, September 30, 2009
at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bill Cotten and Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Interment
will follow at New Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community
Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
James Riley was born September 11, 1920 in Harrisonburg, LA and passed away
Sunday, September 27, 2009 at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena. He was a
resident of Sicily Island, a heavy equipment operator, and a member of the
Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Lottie Franklin Riley, his
wife, Francis Langston Riley, three brothers, Harvey, Charles, and Corman
Riley, and two sisters, Ola Riley Hutchinson and Helen Riley Johnson.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Idell Parker Riley and Annie Mae Cruse,
both of Sicily Island, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
The pallbearers will be Wesley Riley, Jimmy Riley, Joe Riley, Bruce Holley,
Justin Cannon, Lee Quimby, and Josh Riley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aubrey Quimby, Jeff King, and Stephen Riley.

Melba Forman Pennington
Funeral services for Mrs. Melba Forman Pennington, 68 ,of Natchez, MS were held
at Young's Funeral Home on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Bro.
Russell Crum officiating. Interment followed at Crane Cemetery under the
direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Pennington was born December 6, 1940 in Springhill, LA and passed away
Wednesday September 23, 2009 at Vicksburg Hospital in Vicksburg, Ms. She was a
resident of Natchez, Ms. Mrs. Melba was a registered dietian at Glenbury
Nursing home, she taught piano at Monterey High School for many years. She was
a faithful member of St. Mary's Basillica in Natchez.
She was preceded in Death by her husband, Maxie Allen Forman; her daughter, Mary
Kathleen Foreman; her mother, Helen Wilson McCormick; and her father, Chancey
McCormick.
Survivors include two sons, Mike and Scott Foreman, both of Monterey; a sister,
Lynn and husband Danny Benson of Springhill, LA; two grandchildren, Tarra
Forman of Monterey and Andrew and wife Amanda Foreman of Monterey; and one
great-grandchild, Michael Andrew Foreman, Jr. of Monterey.
Pallbearers were Bill Crane, Bert White, Lehman Lanehart, Clifford McClure, Tom
Baldwin and Andrew Forman.

K.C. Butler
Funeral services for Mr. K.C. Butler, 30 ,of Jonesville, LA were held at Good
Road Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 4:00 PM with Bro.
Brian Taylor, Sr. officiating. Interment followed at Heard Cemetery, Manifest,
under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mr. Butler was born April 15, 1979 and passed away Saturday September 26, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cosey Edward Butler, Sr.; paternal
grandparents, Coy and Robbie Butler; maternal grandfather, Versie Jessie
Cowart; uncles, Mike Butler and Roy Butler; an aunt, Shirley Earls; and a
cousin, Billy Joe Butler.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Butler Book of Jonesville; a daughter,
Desaray Destiney Butler of Rhinehart, LA; two brothers, Cliff Butler of
Jonesville and Cosey Edward Butler, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Jena, LA; a
sister, Charolette Barr and husband Scott of Effie, LA; ma
rital grandparents, Robert and wife Evelyn Mason of Greenville, SC; a marital
grandmother, Addie Lee Wiliams of Jena; three aunts,
Donna Wyant of Enterprise, LA, Cathy Goforth of South Carolina and Sarah Weeks
of Harrisonburg, LA; an uncle, Curtis Butler, Sr. of Sicily Island, LA; and
a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
The Pallbearers were Cosey Butler, Jr., George Pritchard, Jr., Curtis Butler,
Jr., Mikie Butler, Cliff Butler, Brad Elliott and Ken Creel.
The Honorary Pallbearers were Clay Davis, Brad Boothe, Donnie Beard, Eric

Steve Dennis Hedrick
Funeral services for Steve Dennis Hedrick, 55, of Ferriday, LA were held
Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday with Rev. Gordan
Finlay officiating. Interment followed at Hedrick Cemetery in Eva, LA under the
direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Mr. Hedrick was born September 29, 1953 in Ferriday and passed away Thursday,
September 23, 2009 at his residence.
Steve had been a life long resident of Concordia Parish and was a paint
inspector for Century Technical Services. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Hugh and Georgia Jerry Hedrick.
He is survived by one son: Michael Hedrick of Pineville, LA; a brother: Kenneth
Hedrick of Ferriday; two sisters: Betty Hudnall of Jonesville, LA
and Melanie Lewis of Ferriday; aunt and uncle: Peggy and Albert Morace; and a
special friend: Kathy Blount; and many other family and friends.
Pallbearers were Jordan Hudnall, Reggie Aswell, Ivan Hedrick, David Hedrick, Hunter Bryan, and
Roy Lance.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Frith, Philip Burley, Scott Hudnall, and Ricky
Bryan.
