Funeral services for Mrs. Judy G. Reed, 57 ,of Vidalia, LA were held at Young's
Funeral Home on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Bro. Paul Reed
officiating. Interment followed at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of
Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Reed was born April 24, 1952 in Natchez, MS and passed away Tuesday,
September 08, 2009 at Natchez Community Hospital in Natchez.
She was preceded in Death by her husband, Walter Wayne Reed; her father, Woodrow
Holloway; her mother, Hazel Wallace Holloway; her sister, Mary Smith; and her
brother, Woody Holloway.
Survivors include three daughters, Shane and Mickey King of Vidalia, La, Tracy Reed and Andy Britt of Natchez, MS,
and C.J. and Warren Whitaker of Woodville, MS; a son, Greg Whatley of Baton
Rouge, La; a stepson, Brian Whatley of Ferriday, La; two sisters, Beanie and
Ronnie Blaney of Cash Bayou, La. and Betty Masters of Natchez, MS; two
grandsons, Dillon and Tanner King; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Claire King; and
many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers were Boo Blaney, Kenny Bo Blaney, Jon Nunnery, Jay Evans, Jimmy Wells and Sam Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearers were Andy Britt, Mickey King, Dillon King, Tanner King,
Warren Whitaker, Brian Whatley and Charlie Blaney.

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Collins Humble, 74 ,of Jonesville were held at Young's Funeral Home, Jonesville
on Wednesday, September
9, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Bro. Larry Eubanks officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rhinehart, under the direction of Young's
Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mrs. Peggy was born September 15, 1934 and passed away Sunday September 06,
2009.
She was a resident of Jonesville, a Registered Nurse, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steve L. Collins; her mother, Irene Blocker
Collins; and her brother, Dale Lavon Collins.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Elmer Denzelle Humble of Jonesville;
three daughters, Judy Irene Humble Franklin of Jonesville, Cheryl Hum
ble Germany of Deville, and Kim and her husband David Clark of Pineville; a son,
Kevin Dale and his wife Toni Humble of Jonesville; a brother, Dr. Ted Z.
Collins of Baton Rouge; and a sister, Dolores Wilson of Jonesville.
She was also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were be Jon and Ben Germany, Eddie and David Clark, and Stephen and Chris Humble.
Honorary Pallbearers were Bubba and Johnny Wilson and Stephen Collins.

Ruth Virginia Kilpatrick
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Virginia Kilpatrick, 96, of Vidalia, LA will be
held at Evangel Tempel Assembly of God on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at
10:00 AM with Bro. Kenneth Ensminger and Sister Gay Bradford officiating. A
graveside service will be held on Thursday September 17,2009 at 10:00 AM at
Marble Valley Cemetery, Marble Valley, AL under the direction of Young's
Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Kilpatrick was born March 17, 1913 in Arcadia, LA and passed away Sunday
September 13, 2009 at Natchez Community Hospital in Natchez. She was a resident
of Vidalia, a Homemaker, and a member of the Evangel Tempel Assembly of God.
She was preceded in Death by her husband, Harvel Denson Kilpatrick; her father,
Thomas Meadow Pierce; her mother,
Lizzie Ophelia Pierce; and her son, Talmadge Kilpatrick.
Survivors include a son, Tony and his wife Nichole Kilpatrick of Baton Rouge,
LA; a daughter, Golda and her husband Kenneth Ensminger of Vidalia, LA; and a
daughter-in-law, Delores Kilpatrick of Denham Springs, LA.
Mrs. Kilpatrick was also survived by six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren,
and two great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Janway, Neil Janway, Bruce Kilpatrick, Byron
Kilpatrick, John Kilpatrick and Brandon Kilpatrick.

Iva Lee Herrington Nations
Funeral services for Iva Lee Herrington Nations were held at 2 p,m, Sunday,
September 13, 2009 at Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA. A graveside service
followed at 5 p.m. at Wellman Cemetery in Enterprise, LA with Rev. Jerry Sharp
officiating.
Mrs. Nations was born May 23, 1932 in Lincoln County, MS and passed away in
Natchez, MS on Friday, September 11, 2009.
Mrs. Nations had been a resident of Concordia Parish for 55 years and a
homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death
by her parents, husband, Warren "Bozo" Nations, two sons, Charles Ray "Charlie"
Nations and infant Mark Nations.
She is survived by three sons: Clark Nations and wife, Linda, of Clayton, Joe
Nations and wife, Penny, of Ferriday, LA, and Sam Nations and wife, Jean, of
Rusk, TX; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and three great-great
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Marty Hammett, Clay Nations, Craig Nations, Ryan Nations, Casey
Nations, Max Green, Cody Nations, and Chris Sanders.

T. Diana Stubbs Sylvest
Funeral services for T. Diana Stubbs Sylvest will be held at St. Mary's of False
River Catholic Church in New Roads, LA at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16,
2009 with Rev. Mike Schatzle officiating. Interment will follow in Highland
Park Cemetery, Sicily Island, LA. The family will receive visitors at St.
Mary's from 8 a.m. until the funeral services.
Mrs. Sylvest, age 54, was a retired school teacher. She died at 6:47 a.m. at
Carpenter's House of Baton Rouge (no date given). She was a resident of
Ventress, LA and a native of Sicily Island, LA. She was a graduate of Sicily
Island High School, received an undergraduate degree from LSU and a masters
degree from LSU and Southern University. An avid LSU fan, Mrs. Sylvest was a
former teacher at Catholic High School of Pointe Coupee and an employee of the
Pointe Coupee Parish School Board as an educational diagnostician.
Mrs. Sylvest was preceded in death by her parents, William Perry Stubbs, Sr. and
Barnie Lee Cloy Stubbs.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, John T. Sylvest of Ventress; a
daughter, Lauren D. Sylvest; a son, John W. Sylvest, both of Ventress; a
brother, William P. Stubbs, Jr. and wife Carol of Lafayette, LA; and nephews
John William Stubbs and wife Victoria and son Joaquin, Nathan Stubbs, and Drew
Stubbs.

Keith Brooks
Funeral services for Mr. Keith Brooks, age 51, of Jonesville, were held at Parhams Baptist Church on Saturday,
September 5, 2009, at 10 AM with Bro. Tony Ganey and Bro. Dwayne Carlock
officiating.
Interment followed at Adams United Methodist Church Cemetery in Auburn, MS under
the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.
Mr. Brooks was born July 17, 1958, in Liberty, MS and passed from this life
Thursday, September 3, 2009, in Parhams.
He was a resident of Parhams Community and a driller in the oilfield.
He was preceded in death by his father, L. E. "Bo" Brooks, his brother, Lionel
Brooks, and his son, Eric Dwayne Brooks.
Keith is survived by his mother, Reece Junkin of Parhams, and his daughter,
Samantha Nicole Wyant and her husband Greg and his grandson Ayden Cole Wyant.
Also surviving are numerous family and friends.
The Pallbearers were Justin Spinks, Joshua Caukins, Tonye Daniel, Tracie Brown,
Justin Granger, Owen Calkins, and Keith Bennette.
The Honorary Pallbearers will be local area firefighters.

Mr. Ford was born July 5, 1946 in Jonesville, LA and passed away Tuesday,
September 15, 2009 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Alexandria.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war.
He was preceded in Death by his wife, Juanita Rainey Ford, and his parents,
Henry Herman and Lottie Coleman Ford.
Survivors include two sons, Scott and wife LaDee Ford of Manifest, LA, and Terry
Ford of Monroe, LA; a daugher-in-law, Sharon and husband D.D. Johnson of
Deville, LA; two sisters, Rose King of Jonesville, LA, and Myrtis and husband
Ronald Barnhill of Ridgecrest, LA; a sister-in-law, Marie Ford of Jonesville,
LA; grandchildren, Josy and wife Beth Poole, Kaylee Ford and Nick Ford; and
great-grandchildren, Mason Poole and Cheyenne Williams.
Pallbearers will be Andy Mason, John McClure, Jr., Robert Mclain, Elton Tolbert,
Josy Poole, Seth Perrin and Todd Rainey.

Funeral services for Joey Trunzler, 39, of Jonesville, LA, will be held at St.
Patrick Catholic Church in Ferriday on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 2 p.m.

Cemetery in Jonesville under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in
Jonesville.
Joey Trunzler was born February 26, 1970 in Natchitoches, LA and passed away
Sunday, September 13, 2009 in Jonesville. He was a member of St. Gerard
Catholic Church and Kappa Sigma of LSU. Joey loved fishing and LSU Sports and
enjoyed playing with his nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John "Big John" Bartmess,
Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Marcella Bartmess "MeMaw;" his paternal
grandparents, B.G. and Mamie Trunzler; and two uncles, Darrell Taylor and Rocky
Bartmess.
Survivors include his parents, Joe Tom and Mary Gene Trunzler of Jonesville, LA;
two sisters, Katie and husband Johnnie Adams of Larto, LA, and Sommer Trunzler
and Chad Eubanks of Jonesville, LA; a step-grandmother, Myrtle Bartmess of
Wildsville, LA; nieces Mary Kate and Carree Ferguson; nephews Jake Ray, Noah
Ray, Jackson Adams, and Lane and Logan Eubanks; uncles Martin, Mike, Basil,
John Ed, George, and Boone; "Mom and Dad," Robbie and Mike Wilson; and a host
of cousins and friends.
