James “Kris” Krestensen
Graveside funeral services for Dr. James “Kris” Gordon Krestensen, age 86, of Vidalia and formerly of Natchez were held at 10 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 2, 2009
with Rev. William Gassett officiating.
Dr. Kris was born on January 12, 1923 in Key West, FL the son of Jens and Alice
Krestensen.
He passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Vidalia, La.
His childhood was spent in Hilo, Hawaii. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School in Gulfport; Ms. He received his B.S.
from Millsaps College, M.S. from the University of Mississippi, and his M.D.
from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center. He was a Veteran of
World War II where he began his service as an MP in the U.S. Army. Shortly
after his service in the Army began Dr. Kris was assigned to the Contingent
Medical Section where he began his medical training and served as a Medic in
the European, African, and Meddle Eastern Theatre. He received the Victory
Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the American Service Medal. He moved to Natchez
in 1956, where he began practicing General Medicine.
He completed a residency in Radiology and Nuclear medicine and was a practicing
partner with Radiology Associates of Natchez until his retirement. Dr.
Krestensen was a founding member of the First Lutheran Church of Natchez and
sustaining member of the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed raising cows,
vegetable gardening, and Ole Miss Football.
Dr. Kris was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Disa Krestensen;
wives Patricia Rife Krestensen and Joy Posey Paker, daughter -in-law Lucie M.
Krestensen, and nephew Alex K. Taylor, and Bbrother Elroy Krestensen.
He is survived by his children, daughter Disa Taunton and her husband Dr. Brent
Taunton of Vidalia, and son Jim Krestensen of Calhoun, La.
Also surviving Dr. Kris are his sister Rita K. Lyda and her husband Roger of
Ashville, NC, his brother Lloyd Krestensen of Three Rivers, Alaska, and
step-daughters Cretia Parker Guillory of Longville, LA, and Christi Parker
Townsend, of Denham Springs.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Travis Taunton and his wife Stephanie
of Metairie, Megan Krestensen and Kari Krestensen of Calhoun,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were James Butler, Mark Taunton, Charles Moffett, Randy Temple, Dr.
Fred Emrick, Dr. Raymond Brown, Clint Pomeroy, and Michael Lyda.

Keith Brooks
Funeral services for Mr. Keith Brooks, age 51, of Jonesville, were held at Parhams Baptist Church on Saturday,
September 5, 2009, at 10 AM with Bro. Jack Knapp and Bro. Dwayne Carlock
officiating.
Interment followed at Adams United Methodist Church Cemetery in Auburn, MS under
the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.
Mr. Brooks was born July 17, 1958, in Liberty, MS and passed from this life
Thursday, September 3, 2009, in Parhams.
He was a resident of Parhams Community and a driller in the oilfield.
He was preceded in death by his father, L. E. "Bo" Brooks, his brother, Lionel
Brooks, and his son, Eric Dewayne Brooks.
Keith is survived by his mother, Reece Junkin of Parhams, and his daughter,
Samantha Nicole Wyant and her husband Greg and his grandson Ayden Cole Wyant.
Also surviving are numerous family and friends.
The Pallbearers were Justin Spinks, Joshua Collins, Tonye Daniel, Tracie Brown,
Justin Granger, Owen Calkins, and Keith Bennette.
The Honorary Pallbearers will be local area firefighters.

Peggy Collins Humble
Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Collins Humble, 74, of Jonesville, will be held at Young's Funeral Home,
Jonesville on Wednesday, September
9, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Bro. Larry Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rhinehart under the direction of
Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mrs. Peggy was born September 15, 1934 and passed away Sunday, September 06,
2009.
She was a resident of Jonesville, a Registered Nurse, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesville.
She was preceded in Death by her father, Steve L. Collins; her mother, Irene
Blocker Collins, and her brother, Dale Lavon Collins.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Elmer Denzelle Humble of Jonesville; three daughters, Judy Irene Humble Franklin of Jonesville, Cheryl Humble Germany
of Deville, and Kim and her husband David Clark of Pineville; her son, Kevin
Dale and his wife Toni Humble of Jonesville; her brother, Dr. Ted Z. Collins of
Baton Rouge; and her sister, Dolores Wilson of Jonesville.
She was also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The Pallbearers will be Jon and Ben Germany, Eddie and David Clark, and Stephen
and Chris Humble.
The Honorary Pallbearers will be Bubba and Johnny Wilson and Stephen Collins.
The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2009.

Louis Vincent Perrin
Funeral services for Louis Vincent Perrin were held at 10 AM Thursday, September
3, 2009, at Liberty Worship Center, Jonesville, with Pastor Lester Johnson
officiating.
Interment followed at Harrisonburg Cemetery, Harrisonburg, under the direction
of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.
Louis Vincent Perrin, age 93, of Harrisonburg passed away Tuesday, September 1,
2009 at LaSalle General Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Eugene Perrin and Bessie Mayfield
Hamn.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Lee Perrin; children, Michael and Linda
Perrin of Spurger, TX, Daniel and Connie Perrin of Harrisonburg, Dennis and
Heather Perrin of Harrisonburg, Debbie Perrin and one grandson, Jared Stewart
of Harrisonburg, Paul Perrin of Natchez, MS, and Victor and JoAnn Perrin of
Oregon.
Also surviving Mr. Perrin are 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Daniel Perrin, Seth Perrin, Jared Stewart, Donnie Stewart, Josh
Perrin, Jeremy Perrin, Kevin Perrin, and Chris Winborne.
Honorary pallbearers were Jason Perrin, John Perrin, Jordan Perrin, and Jackie
Owens.
