Gladys Ewing
Funeral services for Gladys Ewing, age 91, of Manifest, were held at Community Pentecostal Church in Manifest on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 11:00 PM with Bro. Rod Gordon and Bro. Claude Terral officiating.
Interment followed at Huffman Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mrs. Ewing was born March 3, 1918, in Manifest, the daughter of Lee and Henry Humble. She passed from this life Monday, August 24, 2009, in Jonesville.
She was a home maker, and a charter member of the Community Pentecostal Church in Manifest.
Mrs. Ewing was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ewing; sons, Hansford, Earl Wayne, and Waylon Ewing, 7 Grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters, and 1 great-grandson.
She is survived by her daughters, Geraldine Green and her husband John of Winnsboro, Lois Gordon and her husband Rod of Jonesville, and Marie Shernwell and husband Harlen of Aracida, Mo.
Also suviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pall Bearers were Scott Green, Ronnie Ewing, Mark Gordon, and Kelly Gordon.

Rachel G. Wilson
Mrs. Rachel Grasmehr Wilson, age 70, of Mulberry Mill Road, North Wilksboro, North Carolina, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at her home.
Mrs. Wilson was born January 27, 1939, in Wilkes County, North Carolina, the daughter of Fritz and Verona Key Grasmehr.
She was a member of Baptist Home Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School in the past. She was a very dedicated member of Eastern Star since 1986 and a past matron of the Wilkes Chapter #42 Eastern Star. Mrs. Wilson retired in 1990 from Service Merchandise in Charlotte.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joseph Grasmehr and a sister, Martha Sue Wingler.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband, P. D. Wilson of the home; one son, Phillip Gregory Wilson and his wife Diane of Davidson; and three grandchildren, Phillip Elliott, Andrew and Benjamin Wilson.
Funeral services were held at 2 PM Sunday, August 30, 2009, at Mountlawn Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Paul Brunner officiating. Entombment with Eastern Star rites by Wilkes Chapter #42 followed in Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospitals, in Greenville at 950 West Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605 or in Shreveport at 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103.

Vera Eliza Breithaupt
Mrs. Vera  Eliza Breithaupt, age 92, of Rhinehart, passed from this life at her residence Friday, August 28, 2009.
She was born to the union of John and Addie (Richardson) Alexander on January 7, 1917.
She was a housewife and the oldest living member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 11 AM Sunday, August 30, 2009 in the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Vera was laid to rest in the Alexander Cemetery of Rhinehart, under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.
She is survived by three sons; Lee Breithaupt, Jr. and his wife Lanell of Alexandria, John Breithaupt and his wife Shirley and David Breithaupt and  his wife Julia, both of Rhinehart; and two daughters, Mildred McGuffee and her husband Wayne of Jena and Diane Cader and her husband James of Rhinehart.
Mrs. Vera is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee, Sr., parents John and Addie, and a grandson Eric Breithaupt.
Pallbearers were Rick McGuffee, Kenny McGuffee, Brian Cader, Brent Cader, Tracie Breithaupt, Chris Breithaupt, and Davey Breithaupt.
