Agnes T. Hales
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes T. Hales, age 96, of Ferriday,  were held at Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday, on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11 AM with Bro. Russell Crum officiating.
Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Natchez, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Hales was born May 14, 1913 in Utica, MS, the daughter of Jake Cleveland Templeton and Rose Green Templeton, and passed from this life Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday.  
She worked for Myers Dry Goods, Doris's Dress Shop, and she was a volunteer with the Pink Ladies at Riverland Medical Center.  Mrs. Hales was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ferriday.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Chester Hales, son-in-law Billy Burley, brothers Charles and Don Templeton, and sisters Dotothy Lutrick and Carolyn Barker.
Mrs. Hales is survived by her daughter Joanne Burley of Vidalia, grandsons Bill Burley of Monterey, and Michael Burley and his wife, Ann of Ferriday.
Also surviving Mrs. Hales are her granddaughter,Melinda Pat of Ferriday, and great- grandchildren Zachery, Hayden, Lynn Pat, Rex, and Bailey.
She is also survived by her sisters Kathrine Price and Velma Johnston and brother Don Templeton.
The Pallbearers were Bill Burley, Michael Burley, Zachary Burley, Hayden Patt, Tom Milliken and John Taylor.

James Douglas Champlin
Graveside services for Mr. James Douglas Champlin, age 80, of Ferriday, were held at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 12 noon with Bro. Joel Ford officiating under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Champlin was born July 29, 1929 in Fort Adams, MS, the son of Steven Albert Douglas Champlin and Ethel Moore Champlin,  and passed from this life Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his son James Craig Champlin, brother Mac Carroll Champlin, and sister Evonne Champlin.
Mr. Champlin is survived by his wife Deloris Herron Champlin of Ferriday, his sons, O' Brian Douglas Champlin of Monroe, Jason Clark and Lorie Champlin of Atlanta, Corliss Lee Jones and Sclina Farmer Champlin of Ferriday, and Chuck Glen and Amelia Champlin of Silverhill, Alabama; and daughters, Sharron Dianne and her husband Parvin Brown of Jonesville, and Marion Summer Champlin and Scott Benoit of Ferriday.
He is also survived by brother David Champlin of Tennessee and six sisters, Lavonne Barr, Ester Smith, Lorena Deville, Anges Beard, Mary B. and Nora Gene; 17 granchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The Pallbearers were Johnny Wilson, Sr., Naymond Purdion, Sr., David Rutledge, Ricky Herron, Jr., Mackey Herron and Brandon Holley.
The Honorary Pallbearers were Jasper Littleton and Daniel Farmer.

Patrick Anderson
Patrick Anderson was born on March 17, 1992, in Monroe, La., the son of Norma Jean Price and NaDaniel Anderson, Sr.
He confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age and joined as a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L. V. Oliver. Patrick also attended other churches in the area.
Patrick departed this life on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 5:30 PM. He was a student in the Catahoula Parish School System where he completed and received his diploma on May 26, 2009. He will be deeply cherished by his family and friends.
Patrick leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother Norma Jean Price of Sicily Island, whom he loved dearly and his father NaDaniel Anderson, Sr. of Monroe; his brother Bryan Price of Vidalia; seven uncles, Howard (Rose Mary), Vincent, Johnny (Mary), & Glynn Price, all of Sicily Island, Clyde (Mary) Price of Ferriday, Marvin (Shirley) Price of Baton Rouge, and Jerry (Carolyn) Price of Jonesville; one loving aunt, Mary Ann Price of Sicily Island; two very special cousins, Kevin (Margie) Price of Sicily Island, and Alma Price-Bowie of Wisner.
Also left to cherish Patrick’s memory are great-aunts and uncles Mary Thomas, James (Shirley) Williams of Dallas, Geneva Newbill-Campbell of Ferriday, Ianna Anderson, Steve Anna Johnson, Lois Coleman all of Wisner, Michael Price of Long Beach, Ca., and Lee Edward Price of Phoenix, Az., as well as a host of other relatives and friends. And a very special friend, Rita Carter of Sicily Island.
Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie and Goldman Price.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 11 AM at Martin Junior High School in Sicily Island, Dr. L. V. Oliver, Pastor, Rev. James Williams, Officiate,  Sis. Linda B. Kerry, Mistress of Ceremonies.
Interment followed at Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bryan Price, Kevin Price, Marvin Price, Jr., Jermain Price, Jeffery Thomas, and Glynn Price, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Howard Price, Clyde Price, Marvin Price, Sr., Jerry Price, Johnny Price, Vincent Price, and Glynn Price,  Sr.
Elijah Reed
Elijah Reed departed this life on August 15, 2009.
He was the son of Isaiah Reed, Sr., and Elnora A. Reed.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 22, 2009, at St. Paul Baptist Church, Sicily Island, at 2 PM.
Visitation will be Friday, August 21, from 7 PM to 8 PM at Concordia Funeral Home, 601 Alabama Ave., Ferriday.
