Earl David Perritt, Jr.
Funeral services for Earl David Perritt Jr., age 37, of Monterey, who passed
from this life Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in Monterey, were held at 11 AM
Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Good Road Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Cecil
Grantham and the Rev. Bryan Taylor officiating.
Interment followed at Coates Perritt Cemetery in Monterey, under the direction
of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Perritt was born May 20, 1972, in Natchez, the son of Earl D. Sr. and
Dorothy M. Perritt. He was a lifelong resident of Monterey and a Pentecostal.
Mr. Perritt was a truck driver with Evergreen Trucking Company.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sylvester W. and Vera Mae Coates
and Tom David Perritt.
Mr. Perritt is survived by his three sons, David Tyler Perritt of Haynesville,
La., Daylen Gage Perritt and Dakota West, both of Jena, La.; his two daughters,
Madelyn Shea Perritt of Haynesville and Riona Grace Fritz of Jena.
He is also survived by his parents, both of Monterey; his grandmother, Lillie
Mae Perritt, of Monterey; one sister, Debra Coke of Monterey; wife, Virginia T.
Perritt of Jena; one nephew, Brandon Wayne Coke; one niece, Kimberly Renee
Coke, both of Monterey; and a number of aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers were Bubba Townsend, Chad Boone, Jason Coates, DeWayne Finley,
Albert Crouch and Dusty Till.
Honorary pallbearers were Marcus Calhoun and James “Woody” Mack.

Dwight Barnes
Memorial services for Dwight Barnes, age 89, of Natchez, who passed from this
life Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Glenburney Nursing Home, were held at 10:30 AM
Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Natchez.
The service is open to family and friends.
Mr. Barnes was born February 22, 1920, in Concordia Parish, the son of Bert and
Margaret Cowan Barnes.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez.
Mr. Barnes is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Arvel Barnes; and
two sisters, Patsy Barnes Haley and Hazel Barnes Sampite.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Willard Barnes; his three sons, Dennis Barnes,
Kenneth Barnes and Perry Barnes, all of California; and two sisters, Verna
Barnes Wurster of Vidalia and Margaret Helen Barnes Pierson of Natchitoches,
La.

Belle M. Starr
Funeral services for Mrs. Belle M. Starr, age 96, of Vidalia and Natchez were
held at Young's Funeral Home Vidalia, on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at 11 AM with
Bro. Gordon Finlay, Bro. Don Tate, and Pastor Ray Varnado officiating.
Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of
Young's Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Mrs. Starr was born January 22, 1913, in Hope, AR, the daughter of Rev. Andrew
Wilson and Bessie Mae Hamilton, and passed from this life Saturday, June 20,
2009, in Ferriday.
She was a resident of Vidalia and Natchez, a home maker, and a member of First Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) Ferriday.
Mrs. Starr was preceded in death by her husbands, J. T. McClerkin and Luther
Starr; her sister Marie H. Dubose; and her sons John Hamilton McClerkin and
Nevins Eugene McClerkin.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley M. McClerkin of Vidalia; granddaughter,
Vickie M. Torrey and her husband Bill, and their family Michael Torrey and his
wife Heather, children Calum and Hayden Torrey and Jennifer Bennett and her
husband Malcolm and thier children McNeil and Bella; granddaughter, Dianna L.
Crowson and her husband Ronnie, and their family Jessica T. Whittington and
Adam, and children Justin Adam and Jordan Lee, Terri L. Curtis and daughter
Lauren, and Cristy A. Crowson, Ronnie B, Crowson, Jr. and children Connor,
Blake, Evan, and Brenna.
Mrs. Starr is also survived by her son, Clifton W. Starr and Barbara of Vidalia,
and their granddaughter LaShaye Parker and her husband Matt, and their children
Shawn, BriAnna, Gaby and Sydney Parker; and her grandson, Jody Starr and his
wife Kristen, and their family Dylan, Kayla, Marissa, and Braden.
Also surviving Mrs. Starr are her sisters, Irene S. Reid of Sun City, Ark., and
Jewel Adams Heblon of Mobile, Ala., as well as
numerous nieces and nephews.
The Pallbearers were Ronnie Crowson, Bill Torrey, Adam Whittington, Malcolm
Bennett, Tim Duncan, Pat Dubose, Wes Bolin and
Milton Whittington.

Helen D. Hester
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen D. Hester, age 100, of Waterproof, were held at Young's Funeral Home on Monday, June 22, 2009, at 2 PM with Rev.
Clois Cole officiating.
Interment followed at New Winnsboro Cemetery, Winnsboro, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Hester was born March 21, 1909, in Springfield, MO, the daughter of Thomas
Ellis and Eleanor Sloan "Miller" Dabbs, and passed from this life Friday, June
19, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home Ferriday.
She was a resident of Waterproof, she retired in February 1973 as a telephone
operator with South Central Bell in Natchez, MS after 25 years of service and
was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Tensas First Baptist Church of
Waterproof.
Special thanks to all of the Staff at Heritage Manor who took time and wonderful
care of our loved one.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Price Stuart; three sisters,
Margaret Dabbs Dayton, Thoma Dabbs Ball and Mary Dabbs Pounds; two brothers,
William "Bill" Dabbs and Todd Dabbs; her husbands, Ivy Price, Horace P. Seaman,
and Huey Hester; two sons-in- law, George Stuart and Glen Keyes; two grandsons,
George Ellis Stuart and Jamie Stuart; and two great granddaughters, Christina
Stuart Springfield and Ashley Danielle Taylor.
Mrs. Hester is survived by her son Ivy "Bud" Price and his wife Dorothy of
Ferriday, and her daughter Edith Keyes of Waterproof.
She is also survived by her sister Louise McLeod and her husband James "Jimmy"
of Natchez, MS.
Also surviving Ms. Hester are 12 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren and
numerous great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her many
friends at Rivergate Bowl.
The Pallbearers were Dickie Keyes, Linda Counts, Ralph Price, Gene Price, Bart
Stuart and Dean Coldiron.
The Honorary Pallbearers were Charles Smith, Allen Smith, Dr. Gibson, Daryle
Price and Michael Keyes.

Virginia Elizabeth Inman Morris
Graveside services for Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Inman Morris, age 65, of Sicily
Island, who passed from this life Saturday, June 20, 2009, at her residence
were held at 11 AM Monday, June 22, 2009, at Harris Cemetery in Crowville, with
the Rev. Chris Hamilton officiating.
Mrs. Morris was born November 12, 1943, in Natchez, the daughter of George and
Mildred Inman.
She had been a resident of the area for more 30 years and worked as a homemaker.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Buster and Lanny
Inman; and one daughter, Charlotte Holley.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert D. Holley Jr. and his wife Sharon of
Fayette, and Glen Allen Holley of Pine Bluff, Ark; her daughter, Wendy Danell
Ratcliff of Sicily Island; her stepson, Ernest W. Morris III of Wisner; and her
special adopted daughter, Theresa Hart.
Mrs. Morris is also survived by her five sisters, Judy Krize of Church Hill,
Betty Inman of Ferriday, Judy Spillers of Harrisonburg, Georgia Smith of
Vidalia, and Nadine Inman of Texas; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Graham and
husband, Jacob, Christopher Holley, Heath Holley and wife, Linda, Seth Holley,
Britney Riley and husband, Michael, Victoria Morris, Lindsey Holley and Brandy
Ratcliff; and four great-grandchildren, Daycee and Brylee Graham, and Kristen
and Marissa Riley.
Pallbearers were Christopher Holley, Heath Holley, Seth Holley, Jacob Graham,
Johnny Evans and Michael Ratcliff.
The honorary pallbearer was Brady Ratcliff.
