Justin Case
Funeral services for Mr. Justin Case, age 28, of Jonesville, were held at Grace
Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 10 AM with Bro. Perry Gardner,
Bro. Frank Bass, and Bro. Todd Tucker officiating.
Interment followed at Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of Young's
Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Justin was born December 22, 1980, in Alexandria, LA, the son of Scherry and
Jimmy Case of Jonesville, and he passed from this life Sunday, June 7, 2009, in
Jonesville.
He was a resident of Jonesville, a floor man in the oilfield industry, and he
was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Johnnie and Edna
Coldiron; his paternal grandparents Lamar and Darcy Gordon Case; his uncle
Randy Coldiron; and his cousin Andy Coldiron.
Justin is survived by his parents, his daughter, Natalie Alizhabeth Taylor of
Jena, and his brothers, Todd Case and Britt Case and his wife Judy, all
of Jonesville.
Also surviving Justin are a host of nieces and nephews.
The Pallbearers were Justin Bass, John Austin Reeves, Heath Payne, T-Jack Davis,
Matt Coldiron, Chris Coldiron, Russ Coldiron, and Brent Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Chad McCarthy, Israel Kimbrough, Damon Bass, John
Bass, Will Bass, John Lee Coldiron and Jesse Coldiron.

Janice Sandra Towell Meredith
Mrs. Janice Sandra (Towell) Meredith, age 54, of Jonesville, passed from this life Tuesday, June 2, 2009 after a lengthy illness.
She was born December 24, 1954, the daughter of Henery Ambrose and Esta Annebell
(Stephens) Towell.
Janice is survived by her husband Winston Lee Meredith; her children, Leah
Yvonne
Meredith of Jonesville and Michael Noel Meredith, all of Jonesville; one sister, Judy (Towell) Meierhans
and her husband Leroy of Jena; and two brothers, Gail Towell and his wife Marie
of Manifest,
and Larry Towell and his wife Ann of Columbia, La.
She is also survived by one grandson, Jack White of Jena.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Towell.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home at 10 AM Friday, June 5, 2009 with Rev. Lester Johnson
officiating.
Janice was laid to rest in Siloam Cemetery in Aimwell.
Pallbearers were Richard Meirhans, Chris Towell, David Gaspard Jr., David
Gaspard Sr., Bubby Goad, Monty Goad, and Tim Goad.
Honorary pallbearers were John White and Leroy Meierhans.

A. Girault Bird
Funeral services for Mr. A. Girault Bird, age 66, of Sicily Island, were held at First United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 14, 2009, at 2 PM with Bro. Andy Hitchcock and Bro. James Gass officiating.
Interment followed at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Young's
Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Bird was born March 6, 1943, in Sicily Island, the son of Audley Vern Bird
and Virginia Furr Bird, and passed from this life Friday, June 12, 2009, at
Cabrini Medical Center Alexandria.
He was a life long resident of Sicily Island, owner of Island Pharmacy and Vital
Care, and a life long member of the First United Methodist Church of Sicily
Island.
He was the President of the Leland Water Association, Louisisana Independent
Pharmacy Association, and a farmer and breeder of thorough-bred horses.
Mr. Bird was preceded in death by his son, Darian Bird, his parents, and his
sisters, Virginia "Sunny" Grayson and Deta Algood.
He is survived by his wife Juanita Bird of Sicily Island, his son, John and his
wife Shannon Bird of Sicily Island, and his grandchildren, Evan and Hunter Bird
of Sicily Island.
Also surviving Mr. Bird are his sister, Laverne Harris of Bossier City, his
aunt, Sally Furr of Vidalia, and his nieces, Paige Arnold, Mary Ellen Hopkins,
and Judy Wallace.
He is also survived by several great-nieces and -nephews.
The Pallbearers were Ben Bird, Barry Jenkins, Willard Kassel, Kaline Patten,
Bill Colvin, Scott Emfinger, and Jerry Hinton.
The Honorary Pallbearers were Charles Miller, Carl Book, Donald Ashley, John
Gallup, Marcus Garza, LeDell Tolliver, Jimmy Farmer, Joe Bondurant, Roy Evans,
and Thomas Sam.

Wilma Johnson Tubre
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Johnson Tubre, age 91, of Jonesville, formerly
of Oakdale, La.,
were held at Grace Baptist Church on Monday, June 15, 2009, at 1:30 PM with Rev. Perry Gardner officiating.
Interment followed at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young's
Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mrs. Tubre was born March 29, 1918, in Rapides Parish, the daughter of Charles
Johnson and Emma Mixon Johnson, and passed from this life Saturday, June 13,
2009, at The Columns Community Care Center, Jonesville.
She was a resident of Jonesville and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tubre was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Tubre, Sr.; her
daughter, Ruth Ann Tanner;
her sisters, Oneida LeBleu and Lea Morris Dyer; and her brothers, Dallas Johnson
and Durwood Johnson.
She is survived by her sons, Doug Tubre and his wife Martha of Jonesville,
Charles Tubre of New Orleans, and Bill Tubre and his wife Barbara of Ruston,
and her daughter, Brenda "Bea" Tubre of Charenton, La.
Mrs. Tubre is also survived by her brother, O. D. Johnson of Houston, Texas; and
her grandchildren, Deborah Tubre Bennett, Michael Tubre, David Tubre, Richard
Tubre, and Andrew Tanner.
She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family and friends.

Virginia T. Jackson
Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia T. Jackson, age 85, of Mayna, were held at Mayna Church of God on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at 10 AM with Bro. Lloyd Trisler and Bro. Scott Fletcher officiating.
Interment followed at Pala Alto under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in
Jonesville.
Mrs. Jackson was born July 23, 1923, in Mayna, the daughter of Mamie McNeely
Thompson and Mike Thompson, and passed
from this life Saturday, June 13, 2009.
She was born, raised, and passed away on her home place in Mayna. She was a home health sitter and an avid outdoors woman, her favorites were
squirrel hunting and fishing.
She was a lifelong member of the Mayna Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O. D. Jackson, Sr.; grandson Paul
Jackson; grandparents Bennie and Mattie Thompson; sisters, Maude Thompson,
Georgie Mallone and Mattie M. Covington; and brothers, Bud, Bennie, Shelton,
and W. B. Thompson.
Mrs. Virginia is survived by her son O. D. Jackson, Jr. and his wife Eva, of Mayna, her daughter Carolyn and her husband
L.C. Craft of Waterproof.
She is also survived by her granddaughter Renee' Jackson of Jonesville, her
grandson, Kevin Craft and his wife Crystal of Waterproof; and her
great-grandchildren, Jordan Adams, Peyton and Kelsey Craft, and Ashley and her
husband Rodney French.
Also surviving Mrs. Virginia are her great-great-grandchildren, Erica, Emma, and
R. J. French; as well as her sister Imogene and her husband Jackie Paulk; and a
host of neices and nephews.
The Pallbearers were Kevin Craft, Rodney French, Jordan Adams, Peyton Craft,
Barney Adams, Jackie Ray Paulk, Ralph Covington, Jr., and Jack Dennis Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers were J. M. Trisler, Lloyd Trisler, Dickie Trisler, Glenn McNeely, and Jackie McNeely.

Ervin G. Dupuis
Funeral services for Ervin G. Dupuis, age 78, of Jonesville, were held Tuesday,
June 16, 2009, at 11 AM at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church with Rev. Joel Ford
officiating.
Interment followed at Heard Cemetery in Manifest under the direction of
Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Dupuis was born January 22, 1931, and passed from this life Friday, June 12,
2009, at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena.
He was a commercial fisherman.
Mr. Dupuis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine Dupuis; and
one son, Johnny Dupuis.
He is survived by three sons, Buddy Dupuis (Geneva) of Nebo; Tommy Dupuis
(Janelle); Ronnie Dupuis (Chyrell), all of Sandy Lake; four daughters, Virgie
Carter (Dickie); Cathy Pecanty (James), all of Monterey; Shelia Dupuis of
Winnsboro; Georgianna Herron of Jonesville; along with numerous grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
