Brandon Rush
Funeral services for Mr. Brandon Shawn Rush, age 34, of Saint Joseph, LA were held at St. Joseph Baptist Church on Friday, May 22, 2009, at 10 AM with
Bro. Bill Bearden and Bro Larry Foster officiating.
Interment followed at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, St. Joseph, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Brandon was born June 19, 1974, the son of Ricky and Suzanne Rush, and passed from this life Tuesday, May 19,
2009.
He was a resident of Saint Joseph, a graduate of University of Louisiana in Monroe, and the Owner and operator of Louisiana Developments. Brandon had a vibrant love for nature and the outdoors, and was an avid
sportsman, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed life and lived it
to the fullest. His enthusiasm and joyful spirit will be greatly missed by his
many
friends and family whose lives he touched.
Brandon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pete and Edith Rush.
He is survived by his parents Ricky and Suzanne Rush of St. Joseph, La.; his son
Brandon "Kayd" Rush
and his daughter Janie Ray; his brother Luke Rush of Lafayette; and his maternal
grandparents Bill and Marilyn Goodfellow of St. Joseph.
Brandon is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Anna Faye Rush, “Buck” Rush and his wife Debbie, Markita Swint and her husband Gary, Windella Lane and
her husband Preston, Wilda W. Bezet and her husband Mac, Frances Faitt and her
husband Bill, Bill Goodfellow Jr., and his wife Margaret, and Genney Page and
her husband Billy, as well as numerous cousins.
The Pallbearers were John Robert Gaumnitz, Robbie Gwin, Chris Lancaster, Mark
Cascio, Brooks Blanche, Chad Morgan and Brandon Jackson.
The Honorary Pallbearers were Jay Bearden and Jay Bankston.

Sidney Lee
Funeral services for Mr. Sidney Lee, known to many as "Paps,” age 65, of Saint Joseph, LA were held at St. Joseph Baptist Church on
Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 10 AM with Bro. Mike Pennock officiating.
Interment followed at Legion Memorial Cemetery, Newellton, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Lee was born April 10, 1944, the son of Lawrence Lee and Maggie Ezernac Lee,
and passed from this life Sunday, May 24, 2009.
Sidney farmed in Tensas Parish for 40 years and his favorate pastime was
watching his grandchildren play ball. He was on the Board of Directors of
Tensas Acadamey for 8 years, was a board member of First South Production
Credit, Planters Gin, and Gravity Drainage District 3. Sidney was Chairman of
the Farm Service Agency County Committee for nine years and was a Deacon at St.
Joseph Baptist Church.
He Served his country in the United States Army.
Sidney was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Edna Mae Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Choat Lee of Saint Joseph; his
sons Darron Jeffery and his wife Dawn, and David Ross and his wife Christy, all
of St Joseph.
Sidney is also survived by three grandsons, Kellon Lawrence, Morgan Jeffery and
Joshua David; two
granddaughters, Maggie Anne and Sydney Catherine; and three step-grandchildren, Kaitlen, Austin and Lauchlyn; as well as his mother-in-law,
Virgina Choat of St. Joseph and a host of family and close friends.
Pallbearers were Jeff Lee, Kellon Lee, David Lee, James Arceneaux Jr. , Ronnie
Parker and David Fussell.
Honorary Pallbearers were the Men’s Sunday School Class of St. Joseph Baptist Church, Robert Bradley, Robert
Carroll, Roy Jackson and Charlie Joe James.

Karl Eugene Johnson
Funeral services for Karl Eugene Johnson, 43, of Ferriday, were held at Young's
Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 11 AM with Bro. Michael Cowan
officiating.
Interment followed at Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, Ms., under the direction
of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Karl was born December 29, 1965, in Natchez, the son of Johnnie F. and Alice
Johnson, and
and passed from this life Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Ferriday.
He was a resident of Ferriday and the owner and operator of JJ’s Boat Camp.
Karl was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Cain,
and his paternal grandparents,
Nathan and Annie Bell Johnson.
He is survived by his father, Johnnie F. Johnson, Sr., of Ferriday; his mother, Alice and stepfather John Knight of Vicksburg, Ms.; two children,
Karly Renee and Hunter Eugene Johnson and their mother Cathy Goodwin of
Ferriday; brother Johnnie F. Johnson, Jr. and his wife Sheri of Vidalia; sister
Patricia Johnson Mulder and her husband Vernon of Stockbridge, Ga.; and sister,
Johnanna Johnson of Hawaii.
Karl is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
The Pallbearers were Leslie Givens, Micky Jenkins, Brad Welch, Kenny Johnson,
Darrell Roberts and Jerry Franklin.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ila E. White, age 84, of Jonesville, were held at
Larto Baptist Church on Friday, May 29, 2009, at 10 AM with Bro. Mack Walker,
Bro. Juinor Trisler and Bro. Lloyd Trisler officiating.
Interment followed at White’s Ridge Cemetery, Jonesville, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in
Jonesville.
Mrs. White was born August 27, 1924, in Jonesville, the daughter of Walter
Edmond and Delia Briggs Book, and passed from this life Wednesday, May 27,
2009, at The Columns Community Care Center, Jonesville.
She was a resident of Jonesville, a home maker, and a member of the Larto
Baptist Church.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, James S. White; one sister,
Ruthine Wiley; two brothers, Laverne Book and W. A. Book; two half-brothers,
Nasif Book and Elmo Book; and great-great-granddaughter, Addysen Grace Wiley.
She is survived by her children, Sandra McClure and her husband Juan, Becky
LaPrairie and her husband Butch, and Evelyn Cross and her husband Junior, all
of Jonesville.
Mrs. White is also survived by her brothers, Jimmy Book and Emmitt Book, both of
Jonesville; and her sisters, Emma Louise Trisler and Ruby Lee Wiley, both of
Jonesville.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1
great-great-grandchild.
The Pallbearers were James Cross, John Cross, Matthew McClure, Johnny Deville,
Spencer Rhoten, Tad Tiser and Richard Tiser.
The Honorary Pallbearers were John Deville, Cole Rhoten, Seth Rhoten, Kolby
McClure, Coby Williamson and Blake Williamson.

Rosalie Creel
Funeral services for Rosalie Creel will be held at 10 AM, today, Wednesday, June
3, 2009, at New Life Pentecostal Church, Manifest, with Revs. David Poole and
Brian Taylor officiating under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home,
Alexandria.
Visitation will be from 8 AM until time of service today at New Life Pentecostal Church.
Interment will be at Heard Cemetery, Manifest.
Rosalie Creel, age 73, of Jonesville, passed from this life Monday, June 1,
2009, at LaSalle General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Creel; sons, Norman Creel, Owie
Creel and Marty Creel.
She is survived by Kenny and Linda Creel, Karen and Doyle Watson, Shelia Davis,
Tabitha Creel, Brandy Davis and Jessica Sikes, all of Jonesville, and Brenda
and Lanny Vestal of Dyersburg, TN.
Mrs. Creel is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving Mrs. Creel are her brothers, Danny Hamilton, Bobby Hamilton and
Gilford Hamilton; and sisters, Bernice Floyd and Juanita Tate.

Horace M. “Shorty” Tomlinson
Horace M. “Shorty” Tomlinson, a retiree from Nadler's, Air Liquide and Georgia Gulf and a resident
of Plaquemine, passed from this life at 3:30 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at The
Carpenter House Hospice Care Center in Baton Rouge.
Mr. Tomlinson was 75, a U.S. Army veteran and a native of Harrisonburg.
Funeral services were held at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Saturday, May 30, at 10:30 AM, conducted by Rev. Keith Horton.
Interment followed in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine.
Mr. Tomlinson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gladys Ray Tomlinson, of
Plaquemine; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kitty T. and Richard Wood, and Kaye
T. and Graylin Granger, all of Plaquemine; a son, Morris R. Tomlinson, of
Plaquemine; and a brother and sister-in-law, H. Don and Pat Tomlinson, of
Goodrich, Texas.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Alana Simoneaux and husband Mark,
Austin J. Wood and girlfriend Ann Sawyer, Jolisa Sampey and husband Wade, Tonya
Wilbur and husband Jamie, Stephanie Tomlinson and partner Letha Kelly, Angela
Tomlinson and partner David Behrens, and Laura Tomlinson; six
great-grandchildren, Jared and Kynlee Simoneaux, Halliah Sawyer, Morrigan and
Wade Sampey II, and Chevy Aleigha Wilbur; ex-daughter-in-law, Jane Tomlinson;
and "adopted children," Dale and Jan Gaudet.
Mr. Tomlinson was preceded in death by his parents, Robbie and Elizabeth Boothe
Tomlinson; sister, Barbara T. Easterling; and grandchildren, Jonathan R.
Tomlinson, David T. Wood and Tony L. Wilbur.
Shorty was a member of First Baptist Church of Plaquemine as well as an avid
outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman and gardener. He loved his grandchildren and a
good laugh; and he never met a stranger.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Theresa was born March 30, 1956, in Jonesville, the daughter of C. F. and Ruth
Haygood Evans, and passed from this life
Sunday, May 24, 2009, at her residence.
She was a resident of Pineville, formerly of Jonesville, and she was a school
teacher.
Theresa was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Haygood Evans.
She is survived by her father, C. F. Evans of Pineville; her brother, Gary Evans and his wife Tina of Pineville; and her nephew, David Evans of
Pineville.
