Alfred Gemar, Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Alfred Gemar, Sr., 84, of Mayna, LA were held at Mayna Church of God on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Lloyd Trisler and Bro Marion Trisler officiating. Interment followed at Pala Alto under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in
Jonesville.
Mr. Gemar was born April 1, 1925 in Norco, LA to John Alfred and Mary Trisler
Gemar.
He passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Mayna. He was employed by International Paper Co. in Natchez for 34 years. In addition to his work with IP he was also a farmer. Mr. Alfred attended Mayna Church of God and proudly served his country in the
United States Navy during WWII. His pleasures in life were fishing and spending
time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Sam C. Gemar; and one
sister, Anna Belle Nixon.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Faith Gemar of Mayna; a daughter, Carol
Wiley and husband Topper of Mayna; a son, Alfred Gemar, Jr. and wife Paulette
of Mayna; four grandchildren, Johnny Gemar and wife Jennifer, Bill Wiley,
Jarrod Gemar and wife Summer, and Sarah Wiley; and four great grandchildren,
Lillian Faith Gemar, Sam Gemar, Zoyle Gemar and Eli Gemar.
Pallbearers were Bill Wiley, Johnny Gemar, Jarrod Gemar, Buck Andrews, Glen
Cooper, J.W. Ryder, Kevin Trisler and James Lee Paul.
Honorary pallbearers were James White, J.M. Trisler, Jackie McNeely, Lester
White, Jerry D. Book, Rusty Bruit, J.W. Calhoun and David Paul.

Emma Thompson Bryan
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Thompson Bryan, 94, of Wildsville, LA were held at Evangeline Baptist Church on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 11 a.m.
with Dr. Ralph Webber
officiating. Interment followed at Evangeline Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of
Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.
Mrs. Bryan was born July 24, 1915 in New Era, LA to J.W. and Pearl Thompson
Morace, and she passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Natchez Community
Hospital in Natchez, MS.
She was a member of the Evangeline Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday
School teacher, WMU member, and church treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bryan; three sisters, Mertie
Ezell, Ellie Randall,
and Melvia Lanoue; and three brothers, J.W. Thompson, Bill Thompson, and Lavere
Morace.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Chauvin and husband Charles of Vidalia,
LA, and Linda Strange of Wildsville; a son, Jerry Bryan and wife Cheryl of
Jonesville, LA; grandchildren, Suzan Hogue, Nancy Laird, Jane Opperman, Laura
Strange, Jeremy Bryan, Daniel Bryan, Jesse Bryan, Mika White, Dorey May and
Stacie Reid; and great grandchildren, Kate Lee Laird, Hudson Laird, Andy
Wilson, Emma Hogue, Paul Opperman, Mary Jane Opperman. Christopher Strange,
Jacob Strange, Dylan
& Emma Bryan, Madison White and Noah White.
Pallbearers were Daniel Bryan, Jeremy Bryan, Jimmy Wade, Jesse Bryan, Bobby
Emerick, and Dennis Hogue.
The family would like to say a special thank you for the care that was given to
our
mother by Shay Johnson, Rennie Sanson, Ola Brown Geraldine Benson, Cathy Clark,
Delores Ceasor, and Ashley Butts.

Donna Wade Sharp
Funeral services for Mrs. Donna Wade Sharp, 54, of Olla, LA will be held at 2
p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in the Chapel of Hixon Brothers in Jena, LA
with Rev. Dennis Baker, Bro. Dick Enterkin, and Bro. Ricky Gresham officiating.
Interm
ent will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Sharp was born on October 26, 1955 in Jonesville, LA and passed away from
this life on January 17, 2010. She was a housewife and loving mother. She was a
member of Aimwell Baptist Church. She loved sewing and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Wade, and her brother, Allen Ray
Wade.
She is survived by her husband, Carllyn Sharp of Olla, one daughter, Jessica
Sharp of Olla; her mother, Cora Mae Wade of Larto, LA; one sister, Mary
Patricia Book and her
husband, Melvin of Larto; and nieces and nephews, Heath Book, Heather
Book-Campbell, Jonathan Book, and Madyson Campbell.
Pallbearers will be Donice Morace, Charles "Chucky" Book III, Timmy Book,
Russell
Posey, LeRoy Westbrooks, and Meridith Poole.
