Two more actors added to Feud cast     (published October 21, 2009)
By Dot Cotton Lazarus
Re-enactor Wayne Elliott has selected the two actors who will play the main parts in the Feud:  Kirby King of Jonesville will portray General St. John Richardson Liddell and Dallas Harris of Monterey will portray the character of  Colonel Charles Jones.
The complete list of actors will be announced next week following the practice THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH, AT 1:00, AT THE PARK.  This will be a very important practice for all actors, narrator, prop changers, and any others associated with the presentation because this will be the ONLY PRACTICE before November 7th.
Here are some additional details about the Feud.  Theresa Trisler of Jonesville will sing the National Anthem; the two entertainment groups, the Mt. Sinai Men ’s Quartet with professional musicians, and Lavenia Mason, Mary Scoggins, & Rhonda & Jackie Morris, will perform at 11:00 and 12:00 respectively, in the park.  During the scene changes, the following songs from the “Gone with the Wind” soundtrack will be played:  “Main Title” from the movie, “War is Declared,” “Escape from Atlanta,” and “Paddock Scene” with “When Johnny Comes Marching Home.”  A new addition to the props this year will be a steamboat scene painted on the back wall of the stage by Sandra Carlton.
Golf carts will be available to transport those who need assistance getting down to the park.  Bring your lawn chairs just in case, even though bleachers will be in place.   Attention all of you LSU fans!  The Feud will last from 1:00 to 2:00.  LSU and Alabama will most likely play on national TV at 2:30/3:00, so, you will be able to watch the “drama” of the feud and then watch the “drama” of LSU beating Alabama on that same day.  Go Tigers!
Stay tuned for a possible alternative site.  That ole’ Ouachita River is rising, and every drop of that water has to come by our Four Rivers Park in the next several weeks.  High water will not stop the Feud.  We will still have the Feud, either at the Block High parking lot behind the school, or in front of the seawall at Four Rivers Park.  We’ll watch the river and let you know as soon as we know.
We need your support and your attendance because this presentation is being presented to aid our museum project.  Without the Feud project, Jonesville will not be considered for a Preserve America city designation and a Preserve America grant to build the museum.  Donation boxes will be available for you to contribute toward the museum if you so desire.  Admission to the park will be free.
